Physical Appearance:

  • Raphael is often depicted with a staff or caduceus entwined with a snake which represents wisdom and healing. 
  • Raphael has also been shown as carrying a water gourd. From this gourd he pours out his wisdom and healing powers. 
  • In some art, Raphael has been known to have a fish leap out of the ocean in front of him. This symbolizes Raphael's ability to heal Body, Mind, and Spirit.

  • Raphael is sometimes shown (usually on medallions) as standing atop a large fish or holding a caught fish at the end of a line.
  • His color energies are purple, green, yellow, and gold.

  • Raphael is the high Archangel charged with the healing of the Earth.
  • When asked for healing assistance, Raphael surrounds and nurtures people with the emerald green light of his halo. (Note: Green is the color of healing and clairvoyant people may see emerald green sparkles when Raphael is around).
