Angelic Choirs

When exploring the Angelic Pantheon, note that its inhabitants are divided into several different classifications including Hierarchies, Choirs, and Groups. Below are the nine classes of the Angelic Choirs:

• The Seraphim Choir, is the highest class of celestial beings and the first Angels ever created. The word Seraphim is the plural for Seraph. The word Seraph is a conjunction of two Hebrew words, Rapha meaning healer, and Ser meaning Guardian Angel (not the Guardian Angel's we are accustomed to). » More Info
• The Cherubim Choir, is the second Order or Choir in the first Angel Hierarchy behind only the Seraphim. The name Cherubim means, "fullness of knowledge, or, wisdom." » More Info
• The Thrones Choir, a.k.a. the Ophanim, is the third Choir in the first Hierarchy. Unfortunately, there has not been much mention or information given on the Thrones. They are said to have the strange appearance of a giant wheel covered with eyes.  » More Info
• The Dominions Choir, a.k.a. the Hashmallim, is the highest Choir of the second Hierarchy. They usually appear as older, devinely beautiful humans with wings. In their duties, they watch over the lesser Angels and concern themselves with the details of existence.  » More Info
• The Virtues Choir, is ranked fifth in the total Hierarchy. These are the Angels who are sent to perform miracles on behalf of God. They were created at the same time as the Sphere and are charged with maintaining its heavenly aspects.  » More Info
• The Powers Choir, is sixth in the Hierarchical order. Powers are composed of members of the lower Angel and Archangel classes who have joined the "Angel Military." The purpose of the Powers is to keep the demons of Hell from overthrowing the Earth. » More Info
• The Principalities Choir, is the head of the third Hierarchy. Principalities deal directly with human issues within Heaven and report directly to the Virtues. Principalities are also the Angels assigned to watch over great Earthly things such as nations and religions.  » More Info
• The Archangels Choir, is the second to the bottom tier of the nine Hierarchical levels. The Archangels are an elite group of Angels. Although these Angels are supposed to help watch over the true or common Angels, and represent a lower class, most of the Angels described as being Archangels are in fact Seraphim, Cherubim or Dominions.  » More Info
• The Angels Choir, is the lowest class of the nine Hierarchical levels. By number, Angels are the largest of the Orders or Choirs many times over. Angels are the "messengers of God." In the Bible, and other scriptural or pseudo-scriptural works, they travel about telling men what it is that God desires of them. » More Info
