 "I am a lover and long time student of
Metaphysics in addition to the many arts connected to
it!"
That said, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Mary
Beth and I was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I now
reside in Pittsburgh, PA with my husband, Ron, and our once
homeless cat, Leo, who was sent to us and chose to become part
of our family in September of 2005. (About Leo, is an entire
story in itself).
While my "professional career" has been spent largely in the
business world, originally working for corporations and later
helping Ron operate his business, for as long as I can
remember, I have always been attracted to "the
spiritual."
I can recall at the age of 4 years old being mesmerized with
my mother’s rosary. Many times, while in church, she would hold
it in front of me to stop me from crying. Then, if I was good,
I would get to hold it myself while she went to communion. It
was a real treat for me! As I grew, the attraction became even
stronger. When I was 8 years old, Instead of playing with
dolls, I would build grottos in the valley behind our house for
my religious statues of The Master Jesus and the Blessed
Mother.
Over the years, the intensity continued to grow. A
particular phrase that kept coming up in church always had
"special" meaning to me. At times, it even seemed that it
called to me. We all have heard it:
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek,
and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For
every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth;
and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Matt.
7:7-8
I started asking, in humility, to know the truth that I may
seek and find. Doors were being opened to go through. However,
the greater my learning became, the more questions I was
developing. Questions that were not being addressed or easily
answered by structured religions or beliefs. It didn't take
long for me to realize that “enlightenment” will only give you
a glimpse of itself. It does not seek you out. You have to
pursue it!
After so many years of researching, studying, and analyzing
“The Philosophical Study of Being and Knowing,” I believe that
although Metaphysics is a curriculum that is never completed,
it is definitely one that everyone can participate in, make a
contribution to, and gain a great deal from.
At this point in my life, I have decided to take the things
I have learned in my business career, my research, and my own
personal journey, and blend them together into something that I
can truly wrap myself around. Something that I want to do.
Something that makes me happy. Something that can help others
on their own path. For me, that something is The Metaphysical
Society.
I believe that "the
metaphysical" is going from “our world” to “God’s world”
then back to “our world” where we can apply the knowledge
we have learned.
"For behold, the kingdom of God is
within you [in your hearts] and among you [surrounding you]."
Luke 17:21
We need only look within ourselves for the living Spirit who
dwells within and seeks expression through us. This Divine
Presence, this Power, responds to us through the Universal Law
of Attraction. When we “let go and let God,” we give everything
over to the Mind of God. We are confident that the correct
answers will be there for us and everything that we need in
life will come to us. As the Master Jesus said,
“What things soever ye desire,
when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall
have them.” Mark 11:24
This is the Law of
Attraction!
Another revelation for me has been the fact that while we
all need to live by the Universal Laws of God, we also need to
live by the ones that he specifically outlined for us to follow
as individuals. I've come to believe, as did they Ancients,
that an understanding of Astrology is most helpful in getting
this done. Astrological interpretations are specific to
ourselves and lay out the fundamental Universal Laws we need to
pay attention to in this life. Understand that this is an
“individual” journey. By knowing ourselves, we can practice
being ourselves, and finally we will become ourselves.
The Journey of Self Discovery is the “Power” behind The
Journey. May we be renewed in the Spirit of our Minds.
